The Aldo Leopold Forest was dedicated by the City of Albuquerque on February 15, 2009 in recognition of Aldo Leopold's love of the Rio Grande Bosque. The Forest is approximately 53 acres in size, extending from the north boundary of the Rio Grande Nature Center to the southeast side of the Montaño Bridge. The Albuquerque Wildlife Federation organized a tree planting to celebrate the dedication of the forest in 2009, and we continue to take a special interest in the Forest named for our founder.
